Like many people, I came to running somewhat later in life. In school, I
ran a little track but never very far or, to be honest, very fast. In
college, I ran to stay in shape but never raced or joined a team. I'm not
even sure I wore a watch.
But now that I'm in my 40's, with a great family and having run several
companies, I think I've discovered the joy of running more seriously.
While I'll still never win a marathon, the thought of running one someday
doesn't seem quite as impossible as flying to the moon. In fact, I plan to
run my first half-marathon this Spring.
So I started MyFastFeet to help other runners keep track of their runs and,
soon, keep up-to-date with music, books, shoes and gadgets that are all part of
the fun.
In my past life I got a degree from the Wharton School of Business, worked as a Product Manager at Microsoft, founded a pioneering
multimedia company, started a high-end Web traffic firm (Marketwave, sold in '99
for $77 million) and currently manage a leading aviation software company
(Seattle Avionics). So, like many of you, I do more than just run but,
with the possible exception of flying your own plane, not a lot beats a good
run!
Join me. As our slogan says, you do the running; we'll do all the other
stuff.
